What We Say

Well, this is something a little special! The Chester is one of the most popular Auden models with a large but manageable body size comparable to Taylor's 14 series, and this particular one is out of a very small run of maple Chesters. Maple is one of those woods we can never quite make our minds up on: a good maple guitar is a wonderful experience with a crisp and clear tone that has a huge amount of presence and clarity, but if the other elements of the build don't quite come together it can often sound rather hard and glassy. This Chester is a perfect example of how to do maple right with a gorgeous clear fingerpicking voice and a huge amount of headroom for chords. It's a lovely looking thing as well, reminding us of Moon guitars with a very clean aesthetic.
