We generally think of 0 size guitars being 12 fret designs but Martin made thousands of 14 fret 0 size guitars from the 30s through 50s and it's a lovely little design, marrying parlouresque sounds with more modern appointments such as the solid headstock and 14 fret body join. It's an intimate little guitar, not massively loud but with a lovely clear tone that would lend itself very well to recording fingerstyle. We've had a play around with fitting Martin Retro strings to this one which further accentuates the guitar's sweetness.
We love ordering Atkin guitar that are slightly different to his standard models, and we specc'd this with a cool sunburst inspired by Epiphone's 60s acoustics - combined with the gently aged top coat it's come out really nicely and gives this particular 0 a unique quality to go along with its lovely sound.
