What We Think

One of our all-time favourite Fender designs, the Paisley Telecaster debuted in 1969 and has enjoyed a devoted fanbase ever since. Aside from a few runs of very expensive Custom Shop guitars, modern Paisley lovers have been catered for by Fender Japan, who make a lovely reissue but they rarely make it to the UK, so we're delighted to have managed to snag one of a small number that were made for the UK market this year.

As is fairly common for Japanese Fenders, the body is Basswood which is not traditional but makes a nice, medium weight guitar. The blue is lovely and warm, the flowers have a wonderful 60s vintage look to them and the finish quality generally looks very good. The neck is a pleasant medium C, a little less chunky than some of the earlier versions, with vintage frets and a 7.5" radius.
