To book your FREE place please email [email protected] or phone 0161 834 3281 ext 100

Birchall, who lives with his family in Manchester, has written music for TV, film, theatre, and his own label SAM Records. In 2013, as part of their Future Music Festival, he premiered a short version of his opera at The University Of Central Lancashire.

May is Mental Awareness Month and society will be focusing yet again on a very important aspect of our well-being - mental health.

Paul Birchall's Daily Expressions collection of contemplative piano pieces which was conceived during a particularly stressful period in the composer's life could be a way for some readers to find a sense of inner peace by playing them or to follow the composer's example by transcribing their state of mind into a musical score.
Paul Birchall: "I set myself the task of composing a new piece every day for 28 days. The pieces are mostly improvised with some editing taking place afterward, allowing for a more considered final result.

This event is free but early booking is advisable as places are limited.

There will be an opportunity to purchase Birchall's two books Daily Expressions Book 1 and 2 at a special price and to have them signed by the composer.

Other books from the EVC catalogue will also be available at a special price.

Please note, this event has been rearranged from 22 May 2022 due to clash with the Great Manchester Run.
