Wingert-Jones Publications
Publisher
Wingert-Jones, established in 1964 by instrument salesmen Merrill Jones and George Wingert, has evolved from a modest venture focusing on grand band music to a nationally renowned music publisher. The company began with a single piece, Emperata Overture by Claude T. Smith, showcased at the 1964 Mid-West National Band Clinic. Smith's compositions laid the foundation for Wingert-Jones and remained central to their catalog until his death in 1987. Today, Wingert-Jones not only continues to honour its heritage by publishing premier band music but has also broadened its repertoire to include orchestral and educational pieces, with their Achievement and Early Achievement series being particularly notable in music education circles.
