Composed for the BIBFs One Minute Wonders project in 2006, these three miniatures in a confident, advanced and strident style. They are brief impressionistic studies of localities in Norfolk and are vignettes which communicate with a minimum of fuss and effort. There are simple challenges, with great scope for both performers to display more than simply technique, in a modern, atonal yet still accessible idiom. The edition includes accompaniments for both solo and orchestral tunings. Anthony Green is a prolific composer, writing in most genres, and has written a number of works for double bass. His music is noted for its strident and straightforward style, allied to a strongly convincing structure and architecture. Music to challenge but still accessible and approachable.
