This publication presents the first printed edition of Two Compositions for Violin and Piano op.17 by Jaroslav Kocian. The edition came into existence as a result of the co-operation between Editio Barenreiter Praha and Jaroslav Kocian International Violin Competition in Usti nad Orlici, at which both of the compositions, Serenade and Humoresque, are regularly incorporated into the compulsory programme. These, not only because of the above-mentioned competition, popular compositions are very rewarding when played as encores at the concert recitals.
