This edition of Three Pieces for Violin and Piano op.18 is the very first complete edition of the cycle. It consists of three pieces (Meditation du Soir, Intermezzo Pittoresque, Hymne au Printemps) and its publication is a result of the co-operation between Editio Baerenreiter Praha and the Jaroslav Kocian International Violin Competition in Usti nad Orlici. Due to this competition, in which individual pieces of the opus 18 have been among obligatory pieces, Intermezzo Pittoresque and Spring Hymn belong to the most played pieces by Jaroslav Kocian.
