Born in the small town of Chillicothe, Ohio, Nancy Wilsons vocal talents were apparent at an early age, when she began singing in her church choir. Later, at age 15, she won a talent contest at her high school, which lead to a twice-a-week appearance on a local television show. Success continued from there -- she toured with Rusty Bryants Big Band, made her first recordings, and then moved to New York and got her big break.
