The longest-running production in Broadway history, The Phantom of the Opera opened on Broadway in 1988 and has been performed more than 9,000 times. With immortal songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Charles Hart and Richard Stigloe, the show has captured the imaginations of millions. It also won both the Tony and the Olivier Award for Best Musical. It tells the story of Christine Daaé, a beautiful opera singer who falls in love with a mysterious but brilliant composer and musician whose face is severely disfigured.
