The Finest Selection of Quality Pianos in the UK

Saturday’s Star Piano

December 31, 2011

In our final Piano Department post of 2011, we bring you a rarity of the piano world - a new piano that was made in England. We now have only two British made Kemble pianos left, both in the beautiful shaker style ‘Vermont’ casework designed by Jasper Conran.

Save 18% on this Conran designed, English made Kemble Vermont in Natural Cherry Satin, now only £6290 (original price £7690)

Save 18% on this Conran designed, English made Kemble Vermont in Natural Cherry Satin, now only £6290 (original price £7690)

In our showroom we have the Mocha colour and, still wrapped up in its original shopping box, we have a Cherry Satin example. These are very good upright pianos with an excellent level of clarity for their price and they would suit someone who wants a quality instrument which looks a bit different to the normal black polyester casework. We are now offering these instruments at the very special prices of £5990 for the Mocha and £6290 for the Cherry Satin.  As we are Manchester’s Kemble Centre of Excellence both pianos benefit from a 10 year Kemble guarantee, but be quick as we only have one of each left.  Of course, we have a good stock of Indonesian made Kembles, which we have been impressed with, but they no longer make the ‘Vermont’ model so this is a chance to own a piece of piano history!

All that leaves is for us to wish all our customers a happy, healthy and musical New Year. We look forward to seeing you in 2012!

Friday’s Star Piano

December 30, 2011

m_121_t_layThe May Berlin M121 upright piano is the answer for those on a tighter budget looking for a good quality new piano with an unusual depth of sound for its price.
This 121cm tall model is available in Traditional and Modern casework designs and combines the best in Chinese piano manufacturing with regulation, voicing and quality control in the Schimmel piano factory in Braunschweig, Germany - one of the best piano factories in the world.
The May has a more mature and more flexible tonal quality than its price competition and has proven very popular with the many customers who have purchased one from us.
We keep these pianos in stock for quick delivery and, as with every piano we sell, each one gets a full check over and set-up from our workshop technicians before it comes out to you.

Thursday’s Star Piano - SOLD

December 29, 2011

k_169_tih_layThursday brings us the beautiful Schimmel K169T Harp, combining the impressive dynamic and tonal qualities of the K169T grand with astonishingly beautiful inlay. Opening this piano is like unwrapping a beautiful present. When closed it looks the same as a standard K169T in Black Polyester, but open it up and the superb craftsmanship of the intricately inlaid harp design is revealed on the inside of the fall and top lid, and on the music desk, making this a very special piano indeed. Like all K169T grands, this piano has exactly the same Renner made action as the much bigger K213T model and so it never feels like you are playing a smaller piano. Similarly the bass has a depth of tone which we haven’t heard on any other similarly sized piano, and the famous long speaking tone in the treble is there to full effect. For more details do not hesitate to call our Piano Department or visit us on Deansgate where you can see and try this extraordinary instrument for yourself.

Wednesday’s Star Piano

December 28, 2011

Today’s star is the little Bentley GP148 Grand Piano, our most affordable new grand at a very special price of £4,990. This is a Chinese designed and made grand with a famous old British name on it, and although this piano has nothing in common with older Bentley pianos, we have found that with some careful preparation by our technicians it is capable of a surprisingly sweet sound for the price. It won’t suit the budding concert pianist, but it is an attractive and enjoyable small piano for the casual pianist who wants a grand. Of course, the Kawai GM10 and Yamaha GB1 are better pianos for a little more money, but the great advantage of coming to Forsyths is that you can play all of them, as well as a huge range of uprights and other grands, and make an informed decision.

Tuesday’s Star Piano

December 27, 2011

Each day this week we will be featuring a star piano offer that we think provides great value for money.
Today’s highlighted instrument is a Yamaha Disklaiver DU1 upright piano in walnut satin. This piano was purchased from the new stock of a dealer who was closing down, enabling us to offer it at a massively reduced price - actually less than the price of a new U1 without the self-playing Disklavier system. This piano includes the Disklavier recording function - a great bonus when you want to listen to your own playing or if you want to record a selection of music to be played back when entertaining!
The Disklavier DU1 is on display in our showroom now. For more information call the Piano Department, or visit us on Deansgate, but be fast as there is only one available.

Beat The Price Increases

December 23, 2011

Yamaha have announced price increases across their product range which will take effect from 1st February 2012, so with the special offers we have on both now and in January, this is the best time to buy!
These increases are due to changes in currency exchange rates as well as strong increases in energy, labour cost and component parts and, as such, we expect other manufacturers will follow with their own increases in the coming months.
With so many special prices across our extensive range of new and second hand pianos there has never been a better time to grab a bargain. We are only closed for four days over the Christmas and New Year period (25th and 26th December, and 1st and 2nd of January) so there is ample time to visit us and buy the piano you have always wanted.

[Update] A Piano For Christmas

December 11, 2011

Our pre-owned piano stock is moving quickly! In the last couple of days we have sold the Kawai CE7, the £1400 Samick, and a second hand Opus 109 as well as several brand new instruments.

There is still time to buy for delivery before Christmas though and we have been buying in additional stock to satisfy demand. We have a Knight K10 (a real British piano classic) at £2990, two Kemble Classics (for those who are tight for space but still want a good quality piano), and a very rare opportunity to buy a 2-year old Vogel upright, made by Germany’s prestigious piano maker Schimmel. We also have a 2004 Vogel on its way and a Kemble Cambridge. If that isn’t enough we have a good range of re-conditioned Yamaha U-series pianos including 2 U1s and a U3 which have been re-furbished by Yamaha, and a further U1 which has been extensively serviced in our own workshop. We expect all of these pianos to sell quickly at this time of year so don’t lose out! (more…)
