Forsyth has an extensive range of folk instruments in stock:  

 

Ukuleles

We have a fearsome display of ukuleles from the insanely popular Mahalo couloured ukes to high quality sopranos, concerts tenors and baritiones by makers such as Lani, Kala, Lanikai, Martin and Moana.  We also stock the Aquila range of synthetic gut strings, a great way of improving the sound of your uke whether it’s a cheap and cheerful Mahalo or an antique Kumalae.  

 

Mandolin family

Forsyth are one of the largest UK dealers in Eastman mandolin family instruments, with examples across the range always available. Other excellent hand crafted mandolins usually available include Fylde and Moon flat tops and the exquisite carved top Stonebridge mandolins. For those on a tighter budget Ozark, Loar and Countryman mandolins are an excellent alternative. We also carry mandolas, mandocellos, octave mandolins and bouzoukis.  

 

Tenor guitars

A particular favourite of ours, we stock a selection of excellent tenor guitars, including the spectacular new Fylde model.  

 

Fiddles

Our classical department will cater for your acoustic needs, but we also have a healthy selection of electric instruments, including Bridge, Skyinbow and Ted Brewer professional instruments and Carlo Giordano, Hofner and Yamaha student models.  We carry violin pickups by Headway, Fishman, Skyinbow and Shadow, and are always happy to advise on pickups and amplification for string instruments.

 

Everything else

Accordions, concertinas, harmonicas, Irish whistles, fifes, folk flutes, folk harps, bagpipes, mountain dulcimers, autoharps, lap steels - they’re all regular sightings in the store.
