Martin D16GT traditional 1937 sunburst
Here’s a couple more clearance bargains for your delectation. Like the Fylde guitars last month these are both new old stock - ie they’ve been in the shop a little while and we’d like to see them go to a good home. Both of them have a ding or two in the tops, purely cosmetic and nothing at all major just the unfortunately almost inevitable result of a prolonged stay on the shop floor. Both guitars come with hard cases included and include full warranties. So what are these marvelous bargains?
Well, you may have already guessed that it includes the lovely Martin guitar pictured left. It’s a D16GT in beautiful traditional 1937 sunburst the RRP of which is £1399, the clearance price a piffling £1159. There are a couple of small marks on the top which really aren’t very noticeable but we can’t polish them out as we might discolour the sunburst. See it here.
The other is a Breedlove AC25SF+ also in a very pretty sunburst. This one is pretty much perfect but has a few pick marks that run off the scratch plate. It must have been tried by an enthusiastic but rather careless punter. Again it’s purely cosmetic and hardly noticeable but does mean that you get a real bargain. RRP is £1089 but you can get your hands on it for the teensy-tiny sum of £799. Follow this link to see it.

Rickenbacker 360 Jetglo
It can be very frustrating sometimes waiting for a particular model of Rickenbacker in a particular finish to come along and here we have two that have taken a particularly long time to come through.
After about eighteen months of waiting we now have two 360 six-strings in stock, one each in Jetglo and Fireglo and once they’re gone there’s every chance we’ll have to wait another eighteen months before we get any more (I still don’t know when we’re going to get a Jetglo 4003, or a 381 *sighs*). So, if you have a particular hankering for one of these beauties in one of these fine colours then this is your chance! Don’t waste it, be quick! Both guitars are supposed to retail for £2395 but you can get your paws on ours for a piffling £2035.

Lowden Richard Thompson signature.
We have 2 Georges to celebrate today!
Firstly, we have just received from Mr George Lowden’s estimable guitar company one of the very finest examples of their craft; to whit, a Richard Thompson signature model. Made to the guitar legends specifications from AAAA (that’s a lot of As) grade Ziricote (like rosewood only prettier) and cedar with a cutaway and some of the most refined and beautiful woodworking you will ever see on the guitar. Now, it is not a cheap guitar, indeed this outstanding example of the Luthier’s art will set you back £4335, but, and I hope you will agree, that it is among the most playable and rich sounding acoustic guitars that (quite a lot of) money can buy.
The other George we’re celebrating today (and indeed tomorrow), is our very own patron saint who’s day (you may be aware) it is today; and as a gesture we almost feel our patriotic duty, we are offering you lucky people 10% off all our English made instruments today and tomorrow. I repeat, this offer is only available until 5.30pm on Saturday April 24th (2010). So, if you’ve been pondering purchasing a Fylde, Atkin or Gordon Smith guitar then now is the time to do it!
Happy St. George’s Day.

Huss & Dalton OM custom
We’re very pleased to announce that we have taken delivery of three of these extremely fine, handmade American guitars. Huss and Dalton Musical Instruments began in 1995 when Jeff Huss and mark Dalton had the idea to build the guitars they wanted to play. While appreciating the traditional design, both had visions of a guitar that paid homage to tradition whilst incorporating inprovements in the structural design and cosmetics of the steel-strung guitar.
Our first intake includes the OM custom model pictured left - with American walnut back and sides and sitka spruce top for £3704; a 00SP 12-fret slotted headstock in East Indian rosewood and sitka spruce for £3225 and a D-RH dreadnought in East Indian rosewood and sitka spruce for £2549. You can see them all
here.
Do come in and try them out if you find yourself near the shop or simply have a drool over the pictures and contact us if you have any questions.

Martin D28 Marquis
As one of the biggest and best acoustic guitar dealers in the North-West it will come as no suprise to you that we get lots of rather nice instruments through our doors and our stock changes on a regular basis. This week we’ve recieved a delivery of top end Martins which we’d become rather short of (because we sold them all). It’s an exciting and beautiful selection including the D-28 Marquis pictured left - probably the closest thing to a pre-war rosewood Martin Dreadnought that us mere mortals will ever see and a (relative) snip at £4050. We also have a slotted headstock, 12-frets to the body, tiny, wee 0-28VS for £3240, a very lovely Vintage series D-18V at £2150 and an HD-28 in unusual sunburst finish for £2499.
We’ve also topped up on the slightly (only slightly, mind) less special Martin ranges including the new upgraded 1-series electros with fantastic Fishman Preysis plus preamps and some nice models from the X and Little Martin series. You can see our entire range on the Martin guitars page.
Ta ta for now.

Fret King Eclat Standard
Nothing like a little spring cleaning to knock away those winter cobwebs and make the house feel sparkly and fresh and the instrument department is no exception. We’ve got a few electric guitars which, through no fault of their own, haven’t shifted and we think it’s time that they stretched their invisible, little guitar legs and moved on to pastures new; i.e. to the loving embrace of one of you fine people. To help facilitate and ease this difficult transition we’ve popped some rock bottom prices on them and will list them as follows:

Rickenbacker 4003 bass
The thing about Rickenbacker (well one of the many curious, equally endearing and frustrating things about Rickenbacker) is their tendancy to make things in batches. It stands to reason really - nice, efficient way to work, but the annoying thing for us (and, as it turns out a very good thing for you) is that you wait ages (years in this instance) for a particular model to come along and then one does and it sells really quickly (as you knew it would) and you just ask the distributor on the off chance if they have another one available and then they do! So, I know I said we’d be lucky to see another bass any time soon but here another one is, just by the lucky hap that Rosetti recieved a few of them at the same time. Now if only Rickenbacker would hurry up and make a massive batch of jetglo 360s I’d be an even happier man…
However - on the desirable Rickenbacker model front - this is an excellent week as we’ve also just taken delivery of a Marr-tastic jetglo 330. Only one mind!
4003 mapleglo RRP £2079 Forsyth Price £1730
